Lunetterie Générale Casablanca Sunglasses — Medium Havana/18K Gold, Gradient Green
The Lunetterie Générale Casablanca is a pair of sunglasses handmade in Sabae, Japan from Japanese acetate. Founded in 2018 by Montreal-based designer Julien Couture, Lunetterie Générale fuses French refinement with mid-century cinematic inspiration through custom 7-barrel riveted hinges and a signature engraved wire core.
On the Atlantic coast of the plain of Chaouia is the largest city in Morocco; Casablanca. Surrounded by turquoise water and warm sand, its architectural landscape is full of diverse influences, where traditional Moroccan architecture meets colonial styles. Or sometimes art deco, or modernism. Naturally, for the Casablanca we created a thick frame with a very clean, almost architectural round shape. An ode to the architecture of this city that culminates in an improbable, eclectic, but functional mix.
