Masunaga K3

Masunaga designed by Kenzo Takada was launched in Paris in 2014 as a collaboration between the 1905-founded Japanese eyewear house Masunaga and legendary designer Kenzo Takada. The collection unites Japanese precision craftsmanship with Kenzo's signature use of color, pattern, and 1920s-inspired jewelry detailing. Each frame is handmade in Fukui, Japan from titanium and hand-polished acetate — some accented with 18k gold. The 2014 Campanule model won the Silmo d'Or for Best Sunglasses.

Why Masunaga K3 at Visionary Optics?

Masunaga × Kenzo Takada is a collaboration launched in Paris in 2014 between Masunaga (Japan's oldest eyewear maker since 1905) and the late Kenzo Takada, the legendary French-Japanese fashion designer who founded the Kenzo fashion house. After Takada's passing in 2020, the collaboration continues under his K3 brand, led by his longtime creative team.

Visionary Optics carries the Masunaga × Kenzo Takada collection across our three NYC locations. Each frame is handcrafted in Sabae, Japan using pure titanium, premium acetate, and 18-karat gold for limited editions — featuring detailed engravings reminiscent of 1920s jewelry and motifs drawn from Masunaga's emblem and Takada's family crest.
