AHLEM was launched in 2014 by Paris-born, Los Angeles-based designer Ahlem Manai-Platt. Its eyewear is handcrafted in small batches in Oyonnax, France. Each pair travels to three specialized ateliers and into the hands of nine skilled artisans. The collection follows Bauhaus design principles and is made in acetate and in metal electroplated with palladium or 22-karat gold.
